There are several events taking place in Toronto during the last long weekend of the summer and drivers may find it a bit more challenging to get around the city as a result.

Here is a list of road closures to be aware of this weekend:

Fan Expo Canada:

Fan Expo is on at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend from Thursday until Sunday and to accommodate the annual event, the following closures will be in place on Thursday, between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  • Front Street West’s south curb lane between John Street and Simcoe Street
  • Bremner Boulevard’s north curb lane between Simcoe Street and the Metro Convention Centre driveway,
  • Simcoe Street’s west curb lane from the InterContinental Hotel driveway to Bremner Boulevard

Buskerfest:

The annual event, which features street performers from around the world, has moved to Woodbine Park this year and the following closures will be in place from Saturday at 6 a.m. until Monday at 11:59 p.m.:

  • Coxwell Avenue’s northbound curb lane from Eastern Avenue to Lake Shore Boulevard

Labour Day Parade:

The parade starts along Queen Street West from Bay Street and heads west to Dufferin Street. The parade will then move south on Dufferin Street to Exhibition Place. The following closures will be in place until 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday:

  • University Avenue between Dundas Street and Richmond Street
  • Queen Street West’s north curb lane from the west side of Bay Street to the east side of University Avenue
  • Armoury Street between Chesnut Street and University Avenue
  • Centre Street between Dundas Street and Armoury
  • York Street between Richmond Street and Queen Street
