The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a marked police cruiser in York Region Saturday night.
The fatal collision happened around 11:15 p.m. on Queensville Side Road between Leslie Street and Woodbine Avenue, the SIU said in a news release.
No information was immediately available about the motorcyclist’s age or sex.
The agency has assigned three investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to probe the circumstances of the collision.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency called in to investigate whenever police are involved in a death or serious injury.
