A suspected impaired driver suffered minor injuries when a vehicle crashed into a Markham grocery store early Monday morning.

York Regional Police said the male driver was taken to hospital as a precaution after the crash occurred at about 1 a.m.

Police believe the driver was impaired when the vehicle crashed into the corner of the Golden Groceries store on 14th Avenue, just west of Markham Road.

No one was inside the building at the time, a police spokesperson said.
