York Regional Police are searching for five suspects in connection with an unsuccessful armed robbery at a Vaughan jewelry store.

Police say two female suspects, armed with a handgun and a Taser, walked into a jewelry store at 5010 Steeles Avenue West shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 1. Upon entering, the female with the gun produced her weapon and fired it inside the store.

Three male suspects attempted to enter the store but were unable to get past the security system which had been activated.

All five suspects then fled the store empty handed in a vehicle described as a four-door black BMW.

No one was injured during the incident.

The first suspect is described as a black female, who is approximately 25 years old, with short, cropped black hair. She was seen wearing a black, grey and white shawl with tribal designs, a grey shirt, sunglasses, white socks and black shoes. Witnesses told police she was carrying a purse and was armed with a gun.

The second suspect has been described as a brown female, who is approximately 25 with long, frizzy black hair. She was seen wearing a beige baseball hat, white running shoes, black yoga pants and a black T-shirt.

Police say the third suspect was reportedly a black male who was seen wearing sunglasses and white gloves. Witnesses told police that he was carrying a black duffel bag.

The fourth suspect has been described as a black male who was dressed all in black with a red baseball hat.

The fifth suspect, police say, has been described as a black male who was reportedly wearing a black hoodie, black pants and white gloves. Police say he was also believed to be carrying a bag.
