Organizers of the Toronto International Film Festival are apologizing after overbooking two world premieres at this year’s event.

The premieres of ‘St. Vincent,’ starring Bill Murray, and ‘The Drop,’ starring Tom Hardy, were oversold after a computer error occurred while processing ticket orders.

"Our system failed to take two screenings off sale once we had reached capacity at the Princess of Wales theatre," Jennifer Bell,  VP of communications and content management for TIFF, told CP24 in an emailed statement.

Bell said those ticket-holders affected by the incident have been offered an exchange or full refund.

“TIFF sincerely apologizes for this error and for the inconvenience and disappointment it has caused our audiences,” Bell said in an emailed statement to CP24.

“This is a one-off unanticipated glitch that we hope will in no way alter an otherwise terrific experience at Festival 2014.”
