Toronto police say a 47-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a child exploitation investigation.

In a news release issued Saturday morning, police say investigators with the Toronto Police Service’s Child Exploitation Section and Homeland Security discovered that a man was communicating with children online and the content of the conversations were of a sexual nature. Police allege that the suspect made travel arrangements in an effort to meet the child in person.

The man, investigators say, was arrested on April 23 after trying to board a flight at Pearson Airport.

Police say Scott Hughes, of Toronto, has been charged with luring a person under 16 and invitation to sexual touching.

Police say they believe there may be more victims.

According to investigators, the suspect was using the email scotthughes2003@yahoo.com and usernames “Schughes” and “Scott Hughes Digger.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call 416-808-8500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
