Toronto police say two men are in hospital this morning after a shooting in the city’s downtown core.

It happened near Yonge and Dundas streets shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Police say a 21-year-old man was transported to hospital from the scene and according to paramedics, the man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.

A second victim, who police identified as a 24-year-old man, walked into a local trauma centre.

Both victims are in non-life-threatening condition.

Police say the suspect or suspects are still outstanding and investigators have not released any information about who may be responsible for the shooting.

"We don’t have any confirmed suspect information for you yet. We are making basically an appeal to the public right now that if you were at Yonge and Dundas last night when this happened and you have any cell phone footage or you have photos, we are asking you to contact 52 Division if you have any information," Const. Craig Brister told CP24 at Toronto police headquarters Sunday morning.

"We’ve had good luck in the past with people coming forward."

The area was closed to traffic earlier this morning for the police investigation but all lanes have since reopened.

Anyone with information about the shooting can contact investigators at 416-808-5200.
