A charitable foundation established by a late Canadian businessman and philanthropist is making a donation to the City of Toronto to support Riverdale Farm.

City officials held a ceremony at the inner-city farm Monday morning to celebrate the $25,000 donation from the W. Garfield Weston Foundation.

The foundation was established in the 1950s by Willard Garfield Weston and his wife Reta with their shares in the family company, George Weston Ltd., which owns food retailer Loblaw Co.
