A woman in her late 20s was struck by a bus in Scarborough Friday afternoon but police say she managed to call for help while pinned underneath the vehicle.
The woman was struck at around 12:40 p.m. in the area of Eglinton and Pharmacy avenues.
When she couldn't get out from underneath the bus, she called her boss, according to police. A passerby called 911.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they saw the woman was conscious and breathing. Firefighters managed to put a protective collar around her neck and place her on a backboard.
She was still clutching her cellphone when she was pulled out.
She has been taken to East General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
