BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne toured the flood-hit areas of Belleville on Tuesday.

Wynne stopped short of providing direct funding to the city, at least for now.

She says individuals and municipalities affected by the flood can apply through the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program.

Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis and Fire Chief Mark MacDonald accompanied Wynne on the tour and introduced her to several homeowners and residents in the affected areas.

More than 1,600 people registered to volunteer to help with sandbagging to protect homes during the past 10 days and Wynne took the opportunity to thank those people.

Ellis says the damage to infrastructure will be in the millions.
