Firefighters will be monitoring an industrial building in Brampton overnight following a massive three-alarm blaze on Monday.

Roughly 50 firefighters and more than15 trucks were on the scene of the fire at 98 Walker Dr., located in the Steeles Avenue East and Airport Road area, Matt Pegg of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said.

Support crews from the Pearson International Airport and other GTA municipalities were also on the scene to assist in suppressing the fire.

Firefighters operated with caution in dealing with the fire as the building contains flammable substances, including heptane and ethanol.

Neighbouring warehouses and business were evacuated as a precaution and a perimeter was set up around the area.

One man, believed to be in his 40s, sustained burns to his hands in the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating.
