Toronto Police have arrested a 27-year-old man after a gun was found at a Scarborough elementary school on Tuesday afternoon.
Police had been chasing a suspect on foot, and they believe he threw the gun onto school property as he passed. A number of bullets were also recovered from the scene.
They were called to Pringdale Gardens Junior Public School shortly after 3 p.m., just as the school day was coming to a close. The school is located at 1325 Danforth Rd., north of Eglinton Avenue East.
Investigators taped off certain areas around the school, but did not instate a lockdown. Students were allowed to leave with their parents' permission.
No one was injured.
