Officials say arson may have caused an early morning fire Wednesday that forced a group of residents from their home in the east end.

Firefighters were called to a home on Morse Street, near the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard and Carlaw Avenue, around 3:30 a.m. to find the porch engulfed in flames.

Crews quickly knocked the fire down and the occupants of the home escaped without any injuries.

The Fire Marshall's Office is now investigating, and early indications are that the blaze was deliberately set.
