TORONTO - Ontario is confirming 36 new cases of the swine flu, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 155.

Health officials consider all of the cases to be mild.

Toronto reported 15 new cases, while Halton had seven and Peel Region had five.

York Region reported four new cases, Durham region had two, and Waterloo Region one.]

Eighty males and 74 females in Ontario have contracted the virus, with information still pending from one other case.

Ontario reports an average of 9,000 cases of seasonal flu each year and approximately 500 deaths.
