A building, where a large chunk of concrete fell near Don Mills Road and Highway 401, will remain closed for two weeks after the building was deemed unsafe by inspectors.

Officers blocked off an area around the building located at 240 Duncan Mill Rd. amid fears more of the 9 metre wall could crumble on Friday morning. The building was evacuated.

A piece of the decorative concrete on the side of the building fell, damaging the building on its way down. The metal latches that were affixed to the building broke.

No injuries were reported and officials say the building will remain shut for inspections for two weeks.

There are other concrete slabs with cracks which concern inspectors.

The building houses doctor's offices and other businesses inside. It is an 181,000 square-foot property that was renovated and sold in 1985.
