TORONTO - A 66-year-old cyclist has died of injuries he suffered when he was struck by a Toronto streetcar.

Police say the man was struck Tuesday when he turned into the path of the streetcar on a downtown street (Spadina Avenue).

The cyclist went through a red turn signal while the streetcar was proceeding through the intersection on a green light.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead in hospital Thursday.

He was one of three cyclists injured in Toronto on Tuesday and those incidents followed Monday's death of bicycle courier Darcy Allan Sheppard.

Former Ontario attorney general Michael Bryant faces two criminal charges in Sheppard's death and is to appear in court October 19.
