Today, CP24 will bring a fresh approach to news with two half-hour programs - CP24’s Live at 5 and Live at 5:30.

Now the GTA will get more news, traffic and weather from 5 to 6 p.m. on CP24 and CP24 Radio 1050.

Live at 5 – previously a 15-minute newscast – will now run until 5:30 p.m. It will be followed by Live at 5:30 which is scheduled to run until 6 p.m.

”Toronto deserves a 5 p.m. local newscast,” says Bob McLaughlin, CP24’s vice president and general manager.

“CP24 now gives our audience a chance to watch at home or listen in the car from 5 to 6 p.m. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to give Torontonians news when they want it.”

CP24’s Live at 5 and 5:30 will feature the channel’s team of resourceful reporters bringing the top local news stories, traffic and transit, weather and sports.

TalkTV programming will be accommodated in a new timeslot giving viewers a better chance to catch popular shows such as Wylde on Health and Animal House Calls. Details on this change are expected at a later date.
