TORONTO Officials say two people died today when a small plane crashed into a building just north of Toronto.
The plane crashed into the roof of Thinkway Toys during the noon-hour, but none of the 14 employees in the building were seriously hurt.
City officials say the pilot and a passenger, the only two people on board, were killed.
The building is less than half-a-kilometre from Buttonville Airport, where the plane had taken off from.
Witnesses say the four-seater aircraft was trailing a thin plume of white smoke and banked over a parking lot before it crashed.
The plane could be seen on the roof, at Woodbine Avenue and Hooper Road, engulfed in flames following the crash.
The blaze was quickly doused by emergency crews.
