Recreation is gets a boost in Toronto after two key decisions were made at City Hall on Monday night.

The city council's executive committee voted last night to put off its decision to shut Earl Bales ski hill and Centennial Hill after it could not find a private company to run them.

The decision to close the ski hills has been put off for another year.

Meanwhile, they also voted unanimously in support of an $88 million dollar hockey arena for the city's waterfront.

The facility is a four-storey stacked design slated for Commissioners Street and the Don Roadway.
