A male cyclist is dead after he was struck by a streetcar near the waterfront Friday morning.
The victim, believed to be in his sixties, was struck by the streetcar on Spadina Avenue near Lake Shore Boulevard at about 7:30 a.m.
Const. Isabelle Cotton says the man wasn't wearing a helmet and became trapped under the vehicle which was heading southbound along the dedicated streetcar lanes.
An unidentified passenger at the scene says the streetcar had the right-of-way when the cyclist went in front of the TTC vehicle
