The Liberals and the NDP remain in a dead heat as they jockey for control of second place, according to the latest Nanos Research daily tracking poll.

With a week to go in the federal election campaign, the Conservatives hold a 14-point lead over their closest rivals, according to the poll conducted exclusively for CP24, CTV and the Globe and Mail.

The Tories have the support of 39.2 per cent of Canadians, while the Liberals are clinging to a slim lead over the NDP with the backing of 25.6 per cent of decided voters.

The NDP have 23.6 per cent.

In fourth, the Bloc Quebecois is the choice of 6.5 per cent of Canadians, followed by the Green Party at 3.6 per cent.

About 1,020 people were surveyed between Thursday and Sunday.

The poll is considered accurate to within 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

Where are the leaders?

In an attempt to curb the NDP's surging popularity in Quebec, Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe is bringing in a political heavyweight, former Quebec premier Jacques Parizeau, to boost his campaign.

The pair is holding an event in Longueuil, Que., on Monday morning.

NDP leader Jack Layton, meanwhile, is campaigning in Saint John, N.B., and Gatineau, Que.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is holding events in Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor, while Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff is drumming up support in Thunder Bay before heading to Vancouver.
