A 27-year-old man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle in Niagara Falls early Monday morning, police say.

Niagara Falls Regional Police said the single-vehicle crash occurred on Stanley Avenue, north of McLeod Road, shortly before 12:50 a.m.

Police said the man was travelling south when he lost control and the motorcycle struck a concrete island.

He was rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The man's name hasn't been released.
