Toronto police released details Wednesday morning about an ongoing sexual assault investigation that they say may cross international borders.

On Aug. 10, police concluded a three-week investigation by arresting a male suspect in connection with offences that occurred between Nov. 1, 2008, and July 28, 2011.

Mohammad Masroor, 48, of Toronto, faces 13 charges.

Masroor in the leader of the Baitul Mukarram Islamic Society on Danforth Avenue.

He is married and has five children. 

In addition to teaching at this location, he has also taught in Florida, Michigan and Bangladesh, police said.

Investigators believe there may be additional complainants in Canada and outside Canada, where the suspect worked.
