For the second time in less than two months, someone in the Greater Toronto Area has found a slithery surprise in their bathroom.

Dalwood Arian got a scare when he found a small corn snake on top of a toilet in his family's Brampton home late Monday night.

The 17 year old told CTV Toronto he had never seen a snake in person before and was "kind of startled" and worried because he didn't know if it was poisonous.

Peel Regional Police officers corralled the reptile and handed it over to animal control officers.

Initially, police referred Arian to animal control, but he was told to barricade the snake in the bathroom so it could be recovered Tuesday morning.

"That's just scary, thinking that I'll have to have this at home for a few hours," Arian told CTV. "Luckily, the police said they (would) come by and check it out."

It's not known where the snake came from.

In October, Ramdat Punwassie found a small python in a toilet in his apartment suite on Woolner Avenue in Toronto.

Punwassie told CP24 he was shocked when he lifted his toilet seat and saw the coiled snake, which lifted its head and looked at him.

Earlier that month, a corn snake was found in a wall in a neighbouring apartment block.

Both snakes were seized and turned over to animal control officers.
