A 59-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries following a rollover near Westney Road and Highway 401 in Ajax on Tuesday morning.
The woman's car rolled on the southbound ramp from Westney Road to Highway 401's westbound lanes at about 7:15 a.m., coming to rest next to the highway, Ontario Provincial Police said.
The woman was transported by ground ambulance to a hospital in Ajax, where an Ornge air ambulance landed and then airlifted her to a trauma centre in Toronto.
OPP closed sections of westbound Highway 401 and the ramps from Westney Road, but all lanes reopened to traffic by 10 a.m.
The circumstances of the rollover are under investigation.
