The Toronto Raptors are back in the NBA playoffs for the first time in six seasons and fans are paying big bucks to cheer them on in person.
According to a report in Forbes, the Raptors have the highest average playoff ticket price on the secondary market at $370.62. That price represents a 242.50 per cent jump from the average secondary market ticket price for home games this season, also tops in the NBA.
The hefty prices don’t seem to be discouraging playoff basketball starved fans, though.
Tickets to the Raptors first three playoff games went on sale Friday and the majority of them sold out in minutes, with only a handful of single seats ranging from $178 to $360 available for each game as of Tuesday morning. That has pushed fans to the secondary market, where the cheapest seats to the team’s first playoff game were going for $182 on StubHub Tuesday morning. Those tickets will get you a spot in the standing room only section.
The Raptors will play the Brooklyn Nets, the Washington Wizards or the Charlotte Bobcats in the first round, depending on how the final games of the regular season shake out on Wednesday.
The most expensive average playoff tickets in the NBA are as follows:
- Raptors - $370.62
- Clippers - $317.17
- Warriors - $270.31
- Bobcats - $248.15
- Thunder - $244.64
- Hawks - $240.96
- Pacers - $237.31
- Heat - $225.11
- Mavericks - $220.58
- Nets - $218.91
- Rockets - $207.73
- Bulls - $206.35
- Blazers - $168.12
- Spurs - $148.81
- Wizards - $141.11
- Grizzlies - $129.20
