With less than one week to go until the provincial election, Friday is the last day Ontarians can cast their ballots in advance polls across the province.

Advance polling stations for the Oct. 6 election will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The location of the nearest advance polling station is listed on voter cards that were mailed to people this month.

Officials are hoping the extended advance polling days will boost voter turnout.

In 2007, the voter turnout was just 52.1 per cent, one of the lowest totals in more than 30 years.
