MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The Toronto Argonauts signed veteran guard Taylor Robertson to a contract extension Tuesday that will see him remain with the CFL club through the 2011 season.

The six-foot-six, 317-pound native of Kingston, Ont., joined the Argos in a 2007 trade with Calgary. Since then, Robertson has appeared in all 54 of the club's regular-season games and this year was the club's nominee for the CFL's outstanding lineman award.

"Our offensive line here in Toronto is a close group on and off the field," Robertson said in a statement. "Being able to remain a part of that unit with those guys was a major factor in my decision to continue to be an Argo."

Added Argos GM Adam Rita: "We're very fortunate to have Taylor Robertson back. He solidifies our offensive line which enables us to play with the same group as last year. This continuity allows us to get better in the front as the same guys work together. He gives us veteran leadership in that group and has been a solid player for us since he became an Argo. We look forward to seeing his continued strong play."
