Matthew Weese, the brother of the suspect in the shooting death of Bailey Zaveda, was also wounded during the onslaught of gunfire outside the Duke of York Tavern on Saturday, police say.

Police say Matthew Weese, 23, was one of six people shot during the assault, which began after an argument at the establishment. He made his way to the hospital on his own, police say.

Zaveda, also 23, was outside the Queen Street East bar having a cigarette when she was shot and killed. A makeshift memorial of flowers marks the spot where she was shot.

Witnesses say two men were arguing on the street when one of them pulled out a gun and fired numerous rounds.

Colleagues say Zaveda had just moved to the Leslieville neighbourhood to be closer to her job as a marketing co-ordinator.

Her parents -- who are from Brockville, east of Kingston -- say their daughter was bubbly and was excited to be doing what she called the "independent woman in the city thing."

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for 24-year-old Kyle Weese in connection to the shooting. He is wanted for second-degree murder.

Toronto police Det. Sgt. Gary Giroux says Kyle Weese has an extensive criminal record and is under court orders not to carry weapons of any kind. Giroux says investigators are dedicating "a tremendous amount of resources" to finding out where he is.

Giroux says the public should take caution if they see Kyle Weese, who is considered "armed and extremely dangerous."

The suspect's mother, Sherry Weese, called CP24's Legal Briefs on Monday evening. She defended her son -- but also urged him to give himself up.

Anyone with information on Kyle Weese's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
