BOCHUM, Germany - Canadian captain Christine Sinclair will start against France, four days after breaking her nose at the Women's World Cup.

Team doctor Pietro Braina had estimated Sinclair's chances of playing at just 40 per cent just a day earlier. But the striker was included as a starter on the official team sheet.

Sinclair is vital to Canada's chances of advancing.

The sixth-ranked Canadians need at least a draw against No. 7 France to have a chance to move on the quarter-finals.

Sinclair broke her nose during Canada's opening 2-1 loss to Germany on Sunday, but still managed to score the 117th goal of her career.

The 28-year-old from Burnaby, B.C., has been fitted with a protective face mask.
