TRENTON, Ont. - The casket carrying the latest Canadian soldier to die in the Afghanistan mission will arrive at CFB Trenton, Ont., Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. EDT.

Pte. Kevin McKay, 24, who was originally from Richmond Hill, Ont., was based in Edmonton.

McKay was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated during a night patrol Thursday 15 kilometres southwest of Kandahar City.

Governor General Michaelle Jean, Defence Minister Peter MacKay and Chief of the Defence Staff, General Walt Natynczyk are expected to attend the ceremony at CFB Trenton.

The ceremony will be followed a trip along the Highway of Heroes to Toronto.
