CFL to initiate first-ever fan walk with Grey Cup

TORONTO - The CFL is initiating another Grey Cup tradition.

Commissioner Mark Cohon announced Thursday that the CFL will stage a first-ever fan march with the Grey Cup on the day of the big game. Cohon said it will be a fitting end to the Grey Cup festivities for this year's historic game.

"I think it will be," Cohon said. "We want to create a new tradition.

"We think the Grey Cup belongs to Canadians and this is a great way to allow Canadians to bring it to the big game."

The 100th Grey Cup will be played Nov. 25 at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Cohon made the announcement at the stadium prior to the start of the Toronto Argonauts-Hamilton Tiger-Cats contest.

"We want to allow CFL fans from across the country to march the Grey Cup down to the stadium," Cohon said. "The idea is celebrating our fans and celebrating our Cup together and that's what this will be all about."
