Glass has fallen from a downtown building for the second time this week.

A piece of glass fell from the 27th floor of Festival Tower on John Street at around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported.

As a result, John Street from Adelaide to King is closed to traffic.

The condo, built by the Daniels Corp. is being monitored by city inspectors and engineers. The area is being treated as a construction zone with little access for pedestrians.

This is the second time glass has fallen from the building. Pieces from a broken balcony rained down on the same stretch of John Street in early July.

This closure will remain in effect until a city building inspector gives the all-clear.

Meanwhile, another closure remains in effect at the Murano condo on Bay Street after glass fell from the building over the long weekend.

The property managers of are now working to remove and replace the balcony glass on the north tower of the complex.
