Recovered text messages and chat conversations were presented by Crown prosecutors in court as the trial into the murder of 14-year-old Stefanie Rengel continued Monday.

The girl on trial - known as MT - is accused of "counselling or encouraging" homicide. She has pleaded not guilty. Her boyfriend is also facing a first-degree murder charge and will go on trial later this year.

Court documents say MT talked about killing the girl with someone named DB in a May 2007 chat, reports say.

A printed copy of a December 2007 chat also shows MT talked to a friend about the plan.

Rengel was stabbed six times in the stomach and soon collapsed in a snowbank before succumbing to her wounds on Jan. 1, 2008.

MT chatted online about the murder with a friend that day, but said she didn't have anything to do with it, court heard.

The trial continues Tuesday.
