A shrine is growing at Avenue Road and Bloor Street for slain cyclist Allan Sheppard.

Bike couriers and other cyclists took part in a memorial ride on Wednesday afternoon. It began at 5 p.m. on Bloor Street between Bay Street and Avenue Road. Several officers on bicycles were at the scene.

Sheppard, 33, died from injuries sustained from a confrontation with a driver. Former Attorney General Michael Bryant has been charged in connection with the cyclist's death.

Police say Sheppard grabbed onto a car following an altercation. They say the car drove away with Sheppard hanging on. He then fell and suffered fatal injuries.

Bryant is charged with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving causing death.
