The Loblaws store at Dupont and Christie Streets will soon reopen after being closed for several days due to a mouse and rat infestation.

The store was ordered closed by health officials on Monday after an inspection. Since then, its staff has been working to clean and sanitize the store.

On Thursday afternoon, health inspectors found that all violations have been fixed. The Loblaws location is now restocking all fresh food in the store and training employees on proper procedures. It is set to reopen late Friday night for the weekend.

According to a release issued by Loblaws on Thursday, the Dupont store was last inspected in September and no food safety violations were found at that time. Additionally, it says the store's last 10 inspections have been in compliance.

"We would like to reassure you that Loblaw Companies is committed to providing our customers with a clean and safe store environment and offering products that are produced, sourced and handled responsibly," states the release.

"Upon reopening, to demonstrate this, we will conduct store audits every 48 hours by an independent third party."

Customers who would like to return previously purchased items to the store can do so at the customer service desk for a full refund.
