TORONTO - An Elliot Lake couple are steps closer to being about $1,000,000 richer after winning an Ontario 49 draw.
Roland and Carolyn Seguin hit the jackpot on July 15, but because they are owners of an OLG retail location, it was considered an insider win.
Under the rules, all insider wins are investigated.
Now that the investigation has been completed, all that is left is a 30-day waiting period in case anyone has any concerns about the win and wants to come forward.
If there are no objections, the couple will collect their prize on October 28.
The couple plans to use their windfall for a good solid retirement.
"This is very exciting," Roland Sequin said in a statement. "We didn't know what to think! We were shaking a bit."
