Fire destroyed a Markham overnight, sending a man to hospital with non-life threatening inuries.
The blaze broke out at a home on Elgin Mills Road near Kennedy and McCowan Rds. shortly after 3 a.m.
Fire crews raced to the scene, but were unable to contain the fire as the home quickly burned to the ground.
Officers from York Region are currently on scene looking for a cause
