Emergency crews are responding to a number of crashes on GTA roads and highways today after the region gets hammered with rain and snow.

Toronto police and firefighters have been responding since late last night to accidents throughout the 400 series highways.

Fire crews were called to help rescue a driver trapped after a single vehicle crash on the northbound 427, near Highway 407 just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

The vehicle slid out and flipped onto the guard rail, trapping the driver inside. There were only minor injuries.

On the 401, a truck jack-knifed when the driver was apparently caught off guard by the changing road conditions late last night.

The rig hit an icy patch near Victoria Park Avenue on the westbound 401 and mounted a guardrail. A crane had to be brought in to remove the truck.

On Highway 403, south of the 401, an SUV lost control on the slippery roadway, winding up backwards up on the guardrail. No one was hurt at either scene.

Meanwhile, GO Trains, buses and the TTC are running on time right now but there are about three dozen flight cancellations at Pearson International Airport this morning.

Anyone travelling to the airport today should check the status of their flight before heading out.

VIA Rail passengers are also being warned to expect delays along the Windsor to Quebec City corridor.

Although service is running on time right now, riders are being told there could be delays between 30 and 60 minutes. That includes routes to and from Toronto's Union Station.
