A day after Byron Sonne was charged by Toronto police with possessing explosives, authorities arrested his live-in partner for the same crime after executing a second search warrant in cottage country – close to where the G8 summit is being held.

Police raided a property in the Township of Tiny and in the Township of Lake of Bays in the Muskoka region Wednesday afternoon, a day after authorities executed a search warrant on Elderwood Drive, in Toronto's tony Forest Hill area.

As a result of the latest raid, 37-year-old Kristen Peterson was charged with possessing an explosive device and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The couple, who live in a lavish Forest Hill home, have been charged as part of a G20 investigation conducted by the Integrated Security Unit.

The G8 and G20 summits – a conference for leaders of the world's wealthiest countries --are taking place in Huntsville, Ont. and Toronto from June 25 until June 27.

Sonne, a computer security expert, has talked about joining the G20 protests happening in Toronto this weekend, according to acquaintances of the suspect.

The 37-year-old man has also been charged with intimidating a justice system participant with threats, attempted mischief, weapons dangerous and mischief interfering with property.

He made a brief court appearance Wednesday afternoon in a North York courtroom designated for people who have been detained during the G20 summit.

Peterson, who works as an artist,  is expected in court on Thursday.
