How to watch ‘Toronto Decides: The Municipal Debate’

Published:

The Toronto mayor’s race is as close as ever, and the frontrunners will have a chance to make their case to voters this week as CP24 hosts ‘Toronto Decides: The Municipal Debate.’

Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford will face off in a televised commercial-free debate on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

How to watch

The debate will air on CP24 and stream on CP24.com and CTVNewsToronto.ca, as well as the CP24 and CTV News apps.

You can also watch the debate on Crave.

What will be the issues

Chow and Bradford will debate issues that matter most to Toronto residents, such as housing and affordability, transit, public safety, and city finances.

Questions submitted by CP24 viewers will also be featured in the debate.

What’s at stake

Thursday’s debate will be held four days before Toronto residents head to the polls on Oct. 26.

The latest Nanos Research poll conducted exclusively for CP24 and CTV News Toronto shows Bradford has gained some momentum on Chow. It found that 49.8 per cent of decided voters support Chow compared to 46.6 per cent for Bradford.

The poll found that 16 per cent of respondents remain undecided.

Nik Nanos of Nanos Research says the CP24 debate “could be the defining moment of the whole campaign.”

Former Toronto mayor and CTV News municipal affairs expert John Tory echoes the same sentiment, saying the debate could be “very consequential” for both candidates.

Who is the moderator?

CTV News Toronto anchor Michelle Dube will moderate the debate with Newstalk 1010 host John Moore bringing viewer questions.
