CALGARY - One of the stars of the "Jackass" franchise has been arrested at the Calgary airport and charged in an onstage melee at one of his comedy performances more than seven years ago.

Stephen Gilchrist Glover, who goes by the name Steve-O on the hit stunt show, is accused of assault with a weapon in a fight during a New Year's Eve performance in 2003 at the University of Calgary.

Police say an audience member jumped out of the crowd and took a few swings at the comedian before being restrained by security.

That's when Glover, who has also been a contestant on TV show "Dancing with the Stars," allegedly hit him with an unknown weapon.

Police say the man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Two other men were also charged in the fight.

Police say one those men is Preston Lacy, who is also featured in the "Jackass" series. He is charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. Court records show a warrant for his arrest is still outstanding.

Glover was in Calgary to perform and his outstanding warrant was noticed by U.S. customs officials on Sunday.

He was released on $10,000 bail.
