A Toronto judge has ruled a man, who is suing over injuries from a car accident, must answer questions about the content on his Facebook page that is off limits to the public.

Lawyers for a woman being sued believe information posted on the man's Facebook page may be relevant to his claim that an accident in 2004 decreased his enjoyment of life.

John Leduc has been ordered to answer questions about content that is only accessible to his "approved" friends, the Toronto Star reports.

The judge says Leduc can't "hide behind self-set privacy controls", according to the newspaper.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice ruling makes it clear that postings on social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and blogs may have legal implications.
