The father of a baby at the centre of a heart donor drama at Sick Kids Hospital says he is ready to forgive, forget and do everything in his power to keep his daughter alive.

Jason Wallace told reporters on Sunday that he and his wife Crystal Vitelli want to put the attention behind them after coming to the media last week with concerns about organ donation regulations.

They're also dismissing rumours the family is thinking about suing the hospital over comments made by some doctors about their daughter's condition.

Kaylee Wallace suffers from a rare brain malformation called Joubert syndrome that sometimes affects her breathing.

The two-month-old baby was taken off a respirator last week at her parents' request. They say they had been told by doctors that their daughter was dying and wanted to give her heart to Lillian O'Connor, another critically ill baby.

Kaylee's father said Sunday his daughter's condition remains stable. She's breathing on her own with occasional help from a machine during the evening hours. The parents say they hope to bring Kaylee home soon.

The saga has captured media attention and sympathy from across the continent.
