TORONTO - A Loblaws store in Toronto remains closed after several employees were overcome by fumes due to a chemical leak.

In a statement, Loblaws says three employees, a customer, and a vendor doing food demonstrations were taken to hospital.

Toronto Police Duty Insp. Richard Hegedus says they have all since been released.

The store (on Broadview Avenue near Danforth Avenue) was evacuated Saturday.

Loblaws says it is working with an environmental company, the fire department and the Ministry of Labour to determine the cause.

It says the store will reopen once the problem has been fixed.

Hegedus said it is still not clear what kind of substance was involved in the leak.
