Police have arrested a 31-year-old male wanted in connection with several stabbings that occurred in Oshawa, according to a news release.
Officers located the suspect in the area of Ritson Road South and Kitchener Avenue in Oshawa, following reports of a suspicious person on Monday, around 11 a.m.
Jose Lopez of Oshawa was charged with several criminal offences including aggravated assault, assault with weapon or imitation weapon, possession of a weapon for committing an offence, failure to comply with a probation order and disobeying the lawful order of the court.
Earlier in November, police arrested Sharlie Bloxam, 30, of Oshawa, in connection with a stabbing that left the female victim with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they had determined that both the suspects were connected to two other stabbings in the Oshawa area where two victims had sustained minor injuries.
According to police, both suspects had fled the scene of the earlier stabbing by the time they arrived.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
