Man facing life-altering injuries after motorcycle collision in Pickering

A 21-year-old man is suffering from life-altering injuries after losing control while riding a motorcycle in Pickering on Wednesday, police say.

It happened shortly after 4:35 p.m. in the area of Liverpool Road, north of Bayly Street.

Durham Regional Police say the man was travelling southbound when he lost control of the motorcycle and left the roadway.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-altering injuries where he remains in serious, but stable condition.

A nearby pedestrian was also struck with debris as a result, they were taken to a local area hospital with minor injuries, according to a news release.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated. Police is asking anyone with information is to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
