An 18-year-old man from Barrie is facing charges in connection with a “targeted” shooting in Oakville last month, Halton Regional Police say.

The shooting happened at around 5:30 a.m. on March 29, near Lakeshore Road West and Fourth Line.

Police said a male victim was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a news release issued Monday, Halton police said Jayson Burgher was arrested.

He is facing multiple charges, including careless use of a firearm, discharge firearm with intent, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The charges have not been tested in court.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to search for more suspects.

Halton police are asking anyone with additional information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
