Police release images of suspect in Hamilton shooting

Hamilton police have released images of a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting over the weekend that seriously injured a man.

Police said they got a call about a shooting at a business in the area of East 28th Street and Fennell Avenue East.

When emergency services arrived, they located a victim with serious injuries and later transported him to the hospital.

In a news release on Wednesday, police said the suspect fled in a waiting car.

The suspect is described as between six feet and six feet three inches tall, and was last seen wearing a dark green-coloured puffy jacket, a black hoodie sweater with a large white “Adidas” logo on the front, black pants and black shoes.

The vehicle is believed to be a 2020 four-door Honda Civic, silver or grey in colour. Police said it was last seen headed north on Upper Sherman Avenue from Brucedale Avenue East.

The incident was the city’s first shooting of the year.
