Three teenagers are facing charges in connection with a collision in Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon involving a stolen vehicle.

Hamilton police said officers were called to London Street and Roxborough Avenue at 4:30 p.m. for a collision.

They allege that a stolen SUV was speeding and struck a parked vehicle. Police said the occupants of the SUV then fled on foot.

Following a search of the area, officers found the occupants who were later arrested after a brief foot chase.

When the suspects were searched, officers found a BB gun, a bear spray can, and keys to the stolen SUV.

In a news release on Wednesday, the suspects were only identified as two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy. Their names cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All are facing the charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The two 14-year-old boys have also been charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Police said the suspects were later released on undertakings.
